Trade union platforms of our bank have always prudently aligned themselves with the changing scenario of bank since these came into existence after incorporation of our bank from 1st day of Oct. 1938. The contribution of these forums since then have remained extraordinarily outstanding in ameliorating the service condition of its members, be it the formation of different policies, struggle for adopting wage structure of national level banks or any other matter concerning its membership. The leadership while laying a strong foundation has remained loyal to the cause, equally sincere and dedicated for both bank and the organization they nurtured. The contribution of our senior and veteran trade union leadership shall always be remembered and held in high esteem. Officers’ Association has been transacting its business just to nurture and nourish the bond of comradeship and brotherhood, promote the welfare, solidarity, peace, equality, justice, harmony and protect the rights of members since eighties. The Jammu & Kashmir Bank Officers’ Association. Kashmir, the major unit of AIJKBOF represents more than 3000 officers of Jammu & Kashmir Bank Limited. The Membership of the Association constitute of all the Officers from Scale-I to Scale-IV posted anywhere in Kashmir Division subject to regular payment of prescribed monthly subscription. The Association is affiliated to All India J&K Bank Officers Federation, a recognized organization of J&K Bank officers’ across the country, which is affiliated to All India Bank Officers’ Association (AIBOA). The Association is an apolitical and independent trade union body. The officer bearers of the Association are democratically elected to resolve the legitimate issues of its members independently and through a recognized platform All India Bank Officers Federation. The Association is a partner in industrial level discussion and agreements for negotiations, consultations, customer service, welfare schemes etc. It firmly believes in finding solutions to all the problems through bilateral negotiations with the Management. The Association is committed to the objectives for which it was formed. It actively participates in and supports all schemes and measures initiated by the Government for ameliorating the poorer sections of the society and priority sectors of the economy. The office of the Association is housed in a building situated at M.A.Link Road, Srinagar at stones through to Corporate Office of the Bank and is provided with required infrastructure which are necessary for maintaining efficient communication systems between the membership and the management in a most effective manner. Apart from sending out circulars through E-mail, print media and other communications to grass-root level membership, providing them with day to day information on the activities of the organization, the Association is meeting its members regularly through all types of communication to redress their legitimate issues by taking up their issues with concerned quarters promptly and effectively. The aim of the Association is to achieve through constructive co-operation with the Management and the Government, maximum effi¬ciency in banking operations, balanced spread of banking to different areas, high quality customer service, development of human resources, modernization of systems and procedures, preven¬tion of wasteful expenditure and frauds and to promote stable and harmonious industrial relations in the JK Bank. The Jammu & Kashmir Bank Officers’ Association, Kashmir is the only affiliated unit of J&K Bank Officers’ Federation which has constituted a committee in every district of Kashmir Division headed by an elected office bearer to look in the matters concerned to officers’ who expired during services which is in line with the “Hi-Power Committee” framed by the Chairman & CEO of the Bank.
