Subject: Issuance of fresh Advisories on Standard Operating Procedures.

Sir,

Sudden resurgence of the mutant viruses has resulted in record number of infection cases across country and in few places the number is extraordinarily horrible. Banking activities which were in reviving mode is experiencing yet another jolter affecting not only the quality of asset but growth in the business too. We acknowledge, banking is an integral part of economy and the services need to be continued to ensure smooth economic activities, under these circumstances, more importantly it is necessary to ensure safety of banking staff as the footfall in our branches has not lessen despite the alarming situation. Ever since the outbreak of pandemic COVID-19, Bank for the business continuity plan, issued certain SOPs, in light of IBA guidelines which enabled continuance of the banking services. Since the ongoing second wave is more lethal and there is abrupt spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, It is requested that employees be allowed to attend the duties on weekly rotation basis, like 50% of the employees in the respective Offices/Branches should attend office/branch, while the remaining 50% will work from home and this arrangement will be reversed weekly. Working hours (Business hours) of the bank be restricted from 10am to 2pm.

Kindly take urgent cognizance of the alarming situation and surge in COVID-19 infection cases in bank employees and issue SOPs afresh at an earliest and guidelines already issued in this regard be validated. Meanwhile following measures and steps need to be taken immediately to ensure safety of staff and customers who visit branches for their banking needs.

Vaccination drive be started afresh both for the employees as well for their family members.

Only following few essentials activities were kept open at branch level;

Cash Deposit and Withdrawals

 Clearing Cheques

C. Remittances

D. Government Transactions

Only withdrawals beyond Rs.40, 000/= be paid at Branch level, lesser amount can be withdrawn at ATMs.

Increase limits for M-Banking substantially.

Issuance of bank statement and making of pass book entries be deferred till further orders.

Locker operation be allowed on case to case basis.

Employees known to have any underlying health condition be asked to proceed on special/quarantine leave.

A reasonable amount of one month advance salary be paid to all employees for purchase of medicines, masks, sanitizers, etc.

Yours Sincerely

Sd/=

(Mehraudin Shah)

President
